Some months ago I listed my purchased plugins, now it’s the time for the list of free ones you can download and use with no charge. I used all of them and plan to continue so, they are just awesome and get the job done.
Well, where to start. Sould Waves Music announced a remix contest for Nordic Coast – Sunrise In Brisbane track. They received a “huge number” of remixes, but… didn’t like any. No winners, no awards, nothing – everybody go home.
What else can I say? Screw them. Check my remix yourself:
It’s time for another freebie! Get ready for this warm uplifter.
The track was originally prepared for a contest somewhere in April. But it wasn’t that good. I got down to it again last weekend and found out it honestly sucked. But not all is lost! I already figured out how to turn it into proper uplifter. What do you think?
Synths used were Vacuum Pro (first ride) for basses and phasy arp together with LuSH-101 for pads and final supersaw lead. In fact the most important thing in that project was D16’s Devastor 2, which is pretty much on every track and adds tons of warmth and agressiveness to this tune. I aimed at dirty, warm summer vibe and took inspiration from old Sean Tyas tracks in particular.
There are also polyrthytmic maracas rolling through entire length of track. I bet you didn’t notice, but they add some interest to the composition as they drive multiple envelope followers from Live M4L stock.
What really makes or break the tune are the reference tracks, though. This summer I did even more careful A/B comparison and particular started matching EQ, which turned out to make day and night difference. I believe this one is the very best and properly produced trancer I ever shared, so enjoy it!
In the meantime I finished more tracks and need to send them out to labels. In particular the ones that actually check the demos 😛 Life is hard.
I initially made this track in 2015. It felt wrong, though, so I tweaked it over and over. Finally I realized it is simply off the genre has no commercial potential at all – no matter if it’s mixed properly or loud. So now I give it away for free.
Artistically, I find it a success – I had an idea and realized it. The track is just what it was supposed to be. Just the idea was wrong to begin with. Maybe it would work better if I picked other scale than major, now it seems to be way over the top.
I’ve been using this rack for two years now or more. Also requested it as a standard feature in Ableton library, but to no avail. So here it is, as simple as it gets: mid/side Audio Effect Rack. It consists of two channels, mid channel (width 0%) and side channel (width 200%). That’s all that was needed to make it work… once you know it. The reality is, not many people do.
Now it’s here for everyone to download and use.
Just use simple gain boost/reduction or put different effects in mid and side channel. Solo/mute channels to check mono compatibility. Or do some weird shit, it’s all up to you.
Another remix prepared for a contest (so far, the last one) – pure trance at 140 BPM. It quickly turned out exactly how I imagined it. Now you can enjoy this properly mastered version. Check this freebie!
I’m quite digging all the remix contests now, the tracks just come one after another. Here’s an attempt to remix a synthpop, with actual vocals – new thing to me. The original track is clearly amazing and I just wanted to make it similiar but even better, more EDM-friendly rather than pop. This prog-house turned out very satisfactory, just check it on your own. I believe this is an easy-listening tune also non-EDM heads can tolerate. Also, the track is light on compression so sounds more like a pop than hard-limited club tune. Enjoy!
